Bar and restaurant galleries

I photograph bars, restaurants and drink brands in Jacksonville and the beaches, and anywhere else in Florida and Georgia. Over the last two years I have shot food, cocktails and nights out for Lucky’s, Surfer The Bar, Birdies, 5 Points Liquor Lounge and Pete’s Bar, and before that, bottles and cocktails for Diplomático rum and Slane Irish Whiskey.

A drink photo has to sell the drink on a phone screen, so I shoot it where it is served: on your bar, in your light, made by your bartender the way it goes out to guests. The plate next to the menu, the twist of peel over the glass and the bartender in the middle of a pour each get their own frame, and so do the room and the staff.

One visit can cover the space and the night: clean interiors for your Google profile and website before doors, then the bar full after. The event galleries here show the busy side, from Latin Night at Surfer The Bar to the Fourth of July at Pete’s Bar.

Recent clients: Birdies, Lucky’s, Surfer The Bar, 5 Points Liquor Lounge, Pete’s Bar and Yellow Rose BBQ. Drink brands: Diplomático rum for Brown-Forman and Slane Irish Whiskey.

How a shoot works

Before the day

We pick the drinks and plates, the frames each one needs, and the time: before service for clean interiors, during service for the room and the people.

The drinks

Each cocktail is shot fresh on the bar: a clean hero frame, the pour or the finishing touch, and the garnish up close. Spirits and beer brands get the bottle beside the drink.

The food

Plates as they leave the kitchen, from the angle that suits each one, with the menu or a drink in the frame when it helps.

The room

The bar, the dining room, the patio, the signage and the staff at work, for your Google profile, website and delivery apps. Rooftops and decks can be shot from the air too; see drone photo and video.

Delivery

Edited photos in vertical and square crops for Instagram and stories, plus full-size files for print menus. Turnaround is agreed before the shoot.

Video too

Short vertical clips of pours, the kitchen and the room can be shot the same day. See video production.

Questions

What do you photograph at a bar or restaurant?
Cocktails, beer and spirits, plates, the bar and dining room, the patio, the people who work there, and theme nights and events.
Can you shoot during service?
Yes. Drinks and plates go best just before a rush, and the room looks best full, so most shoots start before doors and run into the evening.
Do you work with drink brands?
Yes. I photographed bottles, cocktails and pours for Diplomático rum for Brown-Forman and Slane Irish Whiskey, and a bottle beside the drink made with it works for the bar and for the brand.
Can you cover our events too?
Yes. Watch parties, theme nights and launches are covered like any other event. See event photography. Bar merch like hats and tees has its own page: product and merch photography.
What does a quote include?
The time on site, the number of drinks and plates, the edited photos in the crops you need, the license for menus, web, delivery apps and social media, and travel. Send the date, the menu items and where the photos will be used and I will send a scope with the quote.
How do I book?
Send the date and what you want photographed through the contact page, or call or text (904) 310-0791.
